There are tales about the cheerful prince, the magic prince who could command the spirits and the old gods with a smile and a please. There are tales of how he wooed the court, how the Tsar loved him not for his power, but for his charm. There are tales about the golden prince who had the world in his hands and he knew it, tales of how he could pull down the stars and drape them around the throat of the Tsarina with nothing more than a grin.
What they don't tell you are the tales of the black mage, the weaver of magicks that were carved into the bones of the dead. They didn't tell you about the cloud of ashes that followed the smiling face, the dark red blood drying under perfect nails. There are whispers and secrets about the bone collector, the mage that deals with Death and in Death and who never pays his due.
[Illarion is an OC. He is from a universe where mages, sorcerers and summoners are 'hired' by the Kiev elite of Russia (Rus). While technology will not startle him, he won't really understand it (he'll just assume it's magick he doesn't know) since it's still the early 1900's for him.
